So this past Saturday we finished up the house, put in appliances and took pictures of the final product. It is currently listed on http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/30020663_zpid as well as a local realtors site (and the local mls).

I will post up some pictures of the before and after of each room shortly to see how different the house looks.

Almost Finished (8-25-08)

So we are almost done with the house. This last weekend we got new doors put in the front of the house. We are getting carpet installed around the entire house today which will be the final big part of the house to do. The kitchen has been completely redone, everything has been painted, and we are at the point of cleaning the woodwork. We are hoping to have it up for sale this weekend. It is currently on zillow.com. I will add before and after pictures here and on zillow.com in the next few days. (know anyone that is interested in a house in Cortland?) ;)

Weekend of 7/19/08 - today (7/21/08)

So we did a lot of work inside the house this weekend. Last weekend we got in on a huge 25% off private sale and bought all our floors, cabinets, lights, etc which is great. This weekend we completely redid the floor in the upstairs bathroom and installed the new toilet. Tonight I got the sink in place and need to get the right length for the plumbing hot and cold lines (I always end up getting lines that are too short it seems). Saturday I sprayed the entire downstairs with a 1st coat of primer and my wife did the second coat tonight. We also got a good quote to install all the cabinets, counters, sink, etc for the kitchen which will help out a ton on our timeline. Once the kitchen is updated I will show after pics.

So this is the initial condition of the house. This was about a month ago but we wanted to give some perspective on how the house looks now (once I take some finished exterior pictures of it). Basically there were three large "shrubs" in front of the house which made it impossible to even see the left side of the house. I took those out on one of the first days on the job.

This house is in Cortland, NY for anyone that may be interested (and it is up for sale on zillow.com if you are interested) ;)

We are planning on showing a lot of before and after pictures on this blog for the different rooms we work on. Once our new windows are put into this house we will post the finished outside pictures.... still a lot to do inside though.

So this is going to be detailing our side jobs of flipping houses. We are currently working on our 3rd flip. We got this property about a month ago and so far have been doing most of the work ourselves on weekends. We are planning on using more contractors on future projects. We will try to post before, during and after pics related to the areas we work on as we can. When I say "we" a lot in these postings, it refers to my wife and I as we both do a lot of work on these houses together.
